Shipyard Solar, a subsidiary of Ranger Power, seeks state approval to develop approximately 1,500 acres of farmland into solar panels between Grand Traverse and Wexford counties. This would be a 375 mega-watt project.
These solar panels would be placed over A-1 agricultural land.
Public Act 233 allows an option for developers to directly ask the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) to grant a siting certificate for a solar project 50 mw or greater and effectively override local zoning decisions.
We are against the mass development of farmland into solar panels in Grant Township. We value preserving farmland and open spaces so that our community today - and generations to come - can enjoy the natural beauty and rural character that makes our township special.

Cost: $15
Signs are 24x18 and printed double-sided (same design on both sides), on durable, weatherproof plastic, and come with the mounting stakes.
